Included among the many benefits available to ICE members are several annual awards and grants that have been created to recognize those members who have made exemplary efforts to bring creative and innovative uses of instructional technology resources to their schools or who seek new professional growth opportunities. Each year, the members of the ICE Executive Board approve the winners of two awards that are designed to recognize the outstanding efforts of ICE members. Members have a chance to nominate deserving colleagues for one of two Technology Educator of the Year awards.
There are two categories for the annual Educator of the Year awards:
Scholarships in amounts up to $1000 are given to ICE members in the following categories:
The Illinois Computing Educators organization is an affiliate of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and as such, ICE members are eligible to receive the prestigious Making IT Happen awards which ISTE announces each year. Deserving members are nominated and approved by the members of the ICE Executive Board and the names are then submitted to ISTE for consideration. This special award is given by the ICE Executive Board to recognize members who have made outstanding contributions to our organization and who have graciously volunteered their time and efforts to ICE events and programs over a long period of time.
