Annual ICE Awards
 

Included among the many benefits available to ICE members are several annual awards and grants that have been created to recognize those members who have made exemplary efforts to bring creative and innovative uses of instructional technology resources to their schools or who seek new professional growth opportunities. Brief descriptions of these programs are included below, and you may click on the links in the menu to the left to learn more about application procedures.

Educator of the Year Awards

Each year, the members of the ICE Executive Board approve the winners of two awards that are designed to recognize the outstanding efforts of ICE members. Members have a chance to nominate deserving colleagues for one of two Technology Educator of the Year awards.

There are two categories for the annual Educator of the Year awards:

• ICE Educator of the Year Award - Classroom teachers
• ICE Outstanding Technology Using Educator Award - Media Specialists, technology coordinators and school administrators

ICE Scholarship Program

 Scholarships in amounts up to $1000 are given to ICE members in the following categories:

• ICE Members pursuing advanced degrees and taking additional for-credit college courses.
• ICE Members attending Professional Development Workshops and Conference Registrations.
• Sons or daughters of ICE Members who are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Education.

Making IT Happen Awards

The Illinois Computing Educators organization is an affiliate of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and as such, ICE members are eligible to receive the prestigious Making IT Happen awards which ISTE announces each year. Deserving members are nominated and approved by the members of the ICE Executive Board and the names are then submitted to ISTE for consideration. ICE Distinquished Award of Excellence

This special award is given by the ICE Executive Board to recognize members who have made outstanding contributions to our organization and who have graciously volunteered their time and efforts to ICE events and programs over a long period of time.
